Kitchen Kings Off to a Great Start

Author: Ethan Pierce
Date: 1 May 2026

Our Kitchen Kings cooking programme got off to a fantastic start on Wednesday evening, with a great turnout and plenty of positive energy in the room.

Held at the TTEC Timaru Technology Education Centre, the first session brought together a group of local men keen to build confidence in the kitchen, learn some simple recipes, and enjoy a relaxed and social evening. There were plenty of laughs, great conversation, and some delicious food shared by all.

Kitchen Kings is a hands-on cooking group designed especially for older men. No experience is needed, just a willingness to give it a go. The focus is on easy, practical meals, building confidence, and creating a welcoming space to connect with others.

The programme runs on Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 8:00pm, from 29 April through to 3 June, and is completely free to attend.

It’s not too late to join. If you or someone you know would enjoy learning new skills, sharing meals, and meeting new people, we’d love to have you along.

Location: TTEC Timaru Technology Education Centre, 1 Grey Road, Timaru
Time: Wednesdays, 5:30pm – 8:00pm
