In-Home Care Needs Greater Choice, Not Fewer Providers

For many older New Zealanders, receiving support in their own home is an important part of maintaining independence, wellbeing and quality of life.

A new article from the Aged Care Association raises concerns about the future of in-home care and the need to increase capacity within New Zealand’s aged care system.

As our population ages, demand for support services is expected to grow. Ensuring older people can access reliable, quality care, while having meaningful choice about the support they receive, will be an increasingly important part of meeting that demand.

The discussion also highlights the importance of ensuring there are enough providers and services available to meet the needs of older people across New Zealand, including those living in their own homes and communities.
